देश की राजनीति में आज एक बड़ा दिन माना जा रहा है। कई हफ्तों से जिस announcement का इंतजार किया जा रहा था, वह अब कुछ ही घंटों में होने वाला है। Election Commission of India यानी ECI आज शाम 4 बजे press conference कर West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala और union territory Puducherry में होने वाले Assembly Elections की dates announce करेगा। taazanews24x7.com

इन पांच राज्यों और एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में कुल 824 Assembly seats पर voting होनी है। यही वजह है कि राजनीतिक दलों से लेकर analysts तक सभी की नजर आज की press conference पर टिकी हुई है।
क्यों अहम हैं ये Assembly Elections
भारत में Assembly elections सिर्फ राज्य सरकार बनाने तक सीमित नहीं होते, बल्कि कई बार इनका असर national politics पर भी दिखाई देता है।
इस बार जिन राज्यों में चुनाव होने जा रहे हैं, उनमें West Bengal और Tamil Nadu जैसे politically influential states शामिल हैं।

इन पांच राज्यों और एक union territory को मिलाकर कुल 824 Assembly seats हैं।
Seat distribution इस तरह है:
- West Bengal – 294 seats
- Tamil Nadu – 234 seats
- Kerala – 140 seats
- Assam – 126 seats
- Puducherry – 30 seats
इतनी बड़ी संख्या में seats पर election conduct करना किसी भी democracy के लिए बड़ी administrative exercise होती है।
इसी वजह से Election Commission अक्सर multi-phase voting schedule तैयार करता है ताकि security और logistics दोनों manage किए जा सकें।
आज की press conference में क्या-क्या announce होगा
आज शाम 4 बजे होने वाली press conference में Election Commission of India पूरे election schedule का announcement करेगा।

इन elections को conduct कराने के लिए Election Commission ने पहले से ही कई preparations शुरू कर दी हैं।
Polling stations की identification, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) की availability, polling staff training और security arrangements जैसे कई steps पहले ही लिए जा चुके हैं।
